LP Record Clamp - A legendary Shun Mook product now begin made in a very, very limited number. This record clamp is made from extremely rate pieces of dried ebony briar. This extra heavy century old ebony root which were immersed in the swamps of Africa has a unique power that no other wood possesses. The vibration generated by the diamond style in the vinyl groove besides inducing an electroflux through the phono-cartridge also excites the ebony molecules, causing it to resonate. This in turn is feed back through the styles, causing it to resonate. This in turn is feed back through the stylus and is reparation, sharpened focus and enriched tonal balance of the music. Due to the rareness of this timber, there is no doubt that it will become a collector item in the future.

Our experience with ebony material lead us to the development of a phone cartridge whose body and internal parts were all made from a specially treated black ebony. In order to make the tiny parts no cost is spared to obtain micro machines to fabricate the SM parts.
We work closely with ZYX Corp of Japan and use their best R-1000 engine as the cord of the cartridge.
Each unit is then painstakingly tuned by actual listening in our preference Hi Fi system. This process usually takes about 20 hours.
For analog fanatics this is a cartridge to be hold.

Often times the weakest link in an analog play back system can be the head shell material and the head shell wires. So the Shun Mook analog picture cannot be complete without an ebony wood headshell and custom make headshell wires.
We use an old 4 pin configuration that only fit old style screw on type head shells.

Mpingo Disc - The Mpingo Disc is invented by the Shun Mook team. It is made from a combination of Gaboon and Mpingo Ebony, treated with a proprietary process that gives the disc a unique property to regulate the resonance of any sonic component and its transmission. Yet this is a very simple them to us. Just place one to three disc on top of your preamp, CD transport, DA converter turntable etc., and listen for the wonderful change in you Hi Fi system, When his disc is excited by any external acoustic energy, it will resonate throughout the entire audible spectrum, thus overriding unwanted harmonic distortions and at the same enriching the musical reproduction.

This device can be a bit far out for some user. We make use of the principle and technique of “Dowsing”. Dowsing is an ancient skill of channeling or sensing of subtle energy with the human brain aura, But this is truly an amazing device which have to be experienced.

This device is developed for attachment to microphones in order to enhance the harmonics and add to the tonal richness. Originally made for a recording engineer friend, later some “karaoke” singer like to use it on their microphone. Concert hall public address system found it to be a good improvement to the human voice.

 

 

Mini-Vakve Resonators (VR)

The Shu Mook Valve Resonators are designed to enhance the performance of miniature electron tubes. The main function are:

• Reduces total harmonic distortion
• Damping of tube glass resonance and ringing
• Filters electromechanically vibrations.
• Adds rich musical harmonics to its output signal.

The Shun Mook VRs are made from African Mpingo Ebony treated with a proprietary process that allows for maximum resonance of its musical energy spectrum.

Application is simply by placement of a VR on top a signal tube of a pre-amp, power-amp, or DAC UNITS. The improvement is immediate with a cleanup of the sound field, sharpening of the imaging and increased dynamic transient energy. The sound stage will become wide and deep with better separation of the musical components plus a pronounced increase in inner details.

The result is like turning your ordinary brand signal tubes to a high-grade low noise name brand tube with increase warmth and sweetness to your music.

Power Tube Resonators (PTR)

The Shun Mook Poer Tube Resonators use the same design principies as the mini-valve resonators. Only the physical size og the PTR is much larger due to the higher level of energy flow through the bulb. The PTR is designed for placement on top of the vacuum tube; its body is approximately 1.4 inches in diameter bu 1-inch in height.

Three silver alloy wire legs firmly hold the PTR to the top of the vacuum tube. The legs are sized at the Shun Mook Workshop for large, medium and small (1.75”, 1.5”, and 1.25” average glass diameter) vacuum tubes. However the user can bend and make adjustments to the legs to fit slight variations in different tube brands. In the case if tubes like the 300B or KT88, the legs are set for the top portion of the glass dome.

Due to the high heat output of most tubes, the PTR is treated with a special heat resistant epoxy coating, In normal operation, the wood will get very hot which means the molecules inside are excited and resonating musical energy to enhance the bulb’s performance.

The PTR is packaged in sets of two. For multi-tube power amps, it is not necessary to cover all output tubes with PTRs. Usually one or two per channel will be enough for a big improvement. It’s like upgrading your ordinary vacuum tube to those famous brand name NPS models.
